Custom Damascus Rings
Custom Wedding Band Set with Heirloom Diamonds & Gold
My stainless damascus rings are sole-authored and individually custom made. I make my own damascus, by hand, unlike resellers of factory jewelry posing as artisans. (See my FAQ) I don't have "collections," or styles or any of that marketing approach in mind. If you like my work and have a compatible desire, give me a call or send me an e-mail. This wedding band set was a customer's request to mix both heirloom gold and diamonds from old family rings into something new and wonderful. All of my new precious metals are from a U.S. refinery, and do not come from questionable labor sources.
See the Gallery of Damascus Rings for inspiration.
Star Twist Pattern
14k White Gold Set, Star Twist, with Diamond
My patterns aren't as complicated and fancy as some others, and there are some very exciting patterns out there, but they are almost all made in factory settings with CAD design and laser cutting. I make all of my stainless damascus jewelry by hand, using traditional techniques, in my Vermont studio.
I presently have two patterns I offer. The Star Twist is one of the oldest patterns made in the damascus, or pattern welding technique. It is found on knives and swords going back to the Celtic tribes and Rome on up through the Viking Age.
This is a matching engagement / wedding set of stainless damascus wedding bands lined in 18K white gold. I make all my matching sets from the same area of the same billet, insuring that they look as close to one another as possible.
Sterling Silver, Woodgrain Pattern
This is my other current pattern, more linear and woodgrain-like... I like to think of woodgrain itself as a symbol of cycles and growth. See the Gallery of Damascus Rings for possible variations.
Engagement Set Fused Rings, Domed Damascus w/ Prong Set Diamond
I can set any kind of stone you desire: rubies, sapphires, diamonds, garnets, topaz & iolite are all stones I have set into rings. I can obtain faceted as well as cabochon stones. Please inquire- if I do not have a stone in stock I can certainly order it through one of many dealers I work with. Stone settings are $150 plus the cost of the stones. For diamonds, I prefer to order GIA certified, which we can pick out online together through a couple different online sources.
Damascus Rings with Rails
Damascus Ring with 2mm Rails, lined in 18k Yellow Gold
This ring was made with 18k yellow gold, and includes 2mm rails. I can work in golds up to 24k if you like, and can also vary the width of the rails, with 1mm being normal, and 2mm shown. Price will vary with rail mm width, from 1mm, to 1.5mm and 2mm. Please inquire.
The Domed Wedding Band
14k Yellow Gold, Star Twist, Domed Damascus Ring
The simple yet elegant domed band, available in any lining material. Band width pictured is 6mm, which is typical for medium to large rings, and shows a nice amount of patterning. Rings can be made from 3mm to 10mm, depending on ring size & your preference. The interior of all rings is radiused for comfortable wear.
The Flat Wedding Band
Sterling, Star Twist, Flat Band Damascus Ring
I can also make flat bands, including with any of the options above. Please inquire!
Unique Patterned Ring Blanks
14k Yellow Gold with Diamond, Unique Pattern, Domed Damascus Ring
I sometimes have pieces from near the ends of billets of damascus that show interesting potential. I never know exactly what they will look like, but I can grind & etch blanks to give you a rough idea. Please inquire and I will send photos of any pieces I may have in stock.
I make my own stainless steel damascus and do all work on my rings, from making the material to setting stones; although for high-end stone settings, I prefer a dedicated stone setter. I know the process from start to finish, inside and out, from blacksmith to jeweler. Very few artisans working in the medium may make this claim. Stainless damascus is much more difficult to make than carbon steel typically used for knives & swords. Most jewelers buy their stainless damascus from one of two factories, or from a few individuals selling it. Indeed, there are a bunch of online store fronts pretending that they are selling handmade damascus, but they all have the same exact patterns and designs. Please research, and you will see for yourself.
When you purchase a ring from me you are obtaining a unique, sole-authored & handmade piece from a full-time artisan, and not a factory computer assisted design, robot-milled ring being sold at handmade, custom prices.
Made For a Lifetime
My rings are guaranteed to last a lifetime, indeed, to become family heirlooms. I use only stainless steels guaranteed to not rust, tarnish or corrode when constructed for durability and permanence. All of my ring linings, rails, inlays & settings are soldered in place with high temperature jeweler's solders, both silver and the correct karat & color match for gold. Many other makers simply press-fit their linings & inlays, allowing moisture to seep into the crevices and eventually cause problems, potentially even in stainless steels. See the FAQ for more information.
